Minutes-2017, June


CALL TO ORDER:   6:30 pm at Eagles Nest Coffee House by Nancy Zimmerman, past President.  Thank you Nancy!

MEMBERS PRESENT:    20. Guests are Cindy Stewart from Siren, WI and Kathy Holt from San Diego (Sally’s sister)

TREASURER’S REPORT:  On Hand: $1006.45  Expenditures: $0.  Deposits: $60. Balance as of 6/25/17  is $1066.45

SECRETARY’S REPORT:  May minutes approved as submitted and can be found on the website.


Discussion of boutique survey, reminder of date – weekend before Thanksgiving, 17th-19th of November.  Set up on Thursday, Nov. 16.  Reminder of $10 cost per exhibitor, must be paid at August meeting.

Wabasha Co. Fair – Val wasn’t present to explain the plan, but we had a discussion.  Extra categories have been added for participants, always looking for judges and their expertise.  Must register entries by filling out forms prior to bringing them to the fair.

What do they look for? overall design, colors, finer points of process & end product;  particular about details

RVAG display will be in the chalet – this is  display is not judged, just informational for the public.  It doesn’t need to be “manned”.


Sept. 24-25 is next Hook-In at Eagle’s Nest.  Hooked clock class will be offered, or individual projects can be worked on.  A picture of the clock will be shown next month.

SHOW AND TELL:   Pam – Christmas table topper,  Jan – “Auggie” quilt finished for Nancy,  Julie – Granite lazy susan and crocheted cloches for little girls,  Judith – Baby granddaughter arrived!  All is well,  Mary – made a dress for son’s wedding,  Gail – quilt made for a wedding gift,  Nancy – knitted Mary Jane baby booties,  Barb – knitted projects – cowl, 2 baby sweaters with self-striping yarns, necktie with double stranded yarn (very tiny stitches, took 40 hours to complete), and a mystery item . . .


Reminder that our next meeting will be July 24.  We will enjoy our Summer Fun program at Danzinger Vineyards in Alma, Wisconsin.  We bring appetizers and purchase wine there.  A sign up sheet was passed for participants and what appetizer they’re bringing.

PROGRAM:    Kay W. demonstrated hand massage.  We had a chance to partner up and give massages.  Nice handouts were provided and lots of info on procedure, benefits, and oils to use.  Julie M. also had suggestions for appropriate oils.  A much appreciated program.
