CALL TO ORDER:  at 6:30pm at Eagles Nest Coffee House by Ione Timm, Pres.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  25  No new members

TREASURER’S REPORT:  On Hand: $970.45.  Expenditures: $0.  Deposits: $24.00.  Balance as of  4/24/17 is $994.45.   49 paid members.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:  March minutes approved as submitted.


”Art in Your Heart” challenge – “The Heart of the River” theme – Ione encouraged members to begin working on their project for this challenge.
~Due date Oct. 23
~There will be two  $10 ENCH gift cards  awarded for this challenge   One will be for the name drawn.  The other will be for the item that wins the most votes.    Committees for Boutique:

Signs – put up and take down – Pat Boesel and Karen Harris
Face book – Julie Makoutz
Set Up and Take Down – members who are participating in the Boutique
Advertising –  Rhonda Whalen
Coordinator – open
Coordinator will check with the chairperson of each committee to make sure things are getting done in a timely fashion.
~Board decided that each member who participates in the Boutique should pay a $10 fee to offset the cost of advertising.  There were concerns about taking money out of the treasury for the Boutique.
*The result of the online survey for being coordinator shows that no one is interested in the position at this time.
*There is a Member Connection tab on the Website for those members who own businesses.  We encourage you to check these out and support our members in their endeavors.

MATERIAL GIRLS:  Some went to a retreat and won prizes – in Austin;  Calico Hut sponsors this retreat.

WILD WOOLIE WOMEN: still working on the blocks for the quilt

HOOKERS:  working on own projects

PUNCH NEEDLE: working on own projects

MONDAY STITCHING: work on any project


Reminder that our next meeting will be May 22.   Program is  a demonstration of washing and blocking knit and crochet items by Barb Busch and Nancy Zimmerman.


Ione brought two gorgeous rugs she hooked for her grandchildren.

Julie M. showed the insides of the geodes they cracked at their “crack party”.

Judith showed  the creative ways she used the fleece brought last month as a give away  –  fun blankets from the scraps.

Kay talked about and showed the items she felted: a 3D apple, a 3D bird, a 2D cat (framed) and a landscape (framed), beautiful.

Sally brought ceramic “peeps” she and her husband made years ago and the table runner she just wove to go with it for Easter.

Sue showed two bags she finished – a fabric wrapped coiled purse and a silk sari woven and sewn bag.

PROGRAM:  Barb Tentis – Make and Take name tag figurines


*Boutique dates are Nov. 17, 18, 19 – get those projects going for our 10th anniversary celebration!!
*Our next meeting will be on May 22 – Barb Busch and Nancy Zimmerman will show how to wash and block knitted projects.
