CALL TO ORDER:  at 6:15 pm at the Eagles Nest Coffee House by Nancy Z, President.
MEMBERS PRESENT:  25.  New members – 0.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  On Hand:  $1346.78.  This amount is corrected from 8/22/16 minutes.  A paper report was not received from the treasurer tonight.  She verbally stated the starting balance of $1346.78 and ending balance of $1380.78.  A paper report will be submitted by the treasurer.  Paid members – 56.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:  August 22, 2016 minutes approved as submitted.

Boutique – Remember to sign up for the items you would like to sell at our November 18-20 Boutique.  Angela will be sending out a Boutique Survey, please complete ASAP.   You may also contact her to let her know what you will be bringing or what times you are able work.  Pat B will be doing our online advertising.  Angie and Barb B will be doing the local advertising.
Nomination of Officers – Sue E volunteered to run for Secretary.  Kathy A volunteered to run for Treasurer.

We received a nice thank you card from Lori Drier.  We wish her well in Virginia!
It was suggested that we put some of our RVAG Post Cards in Lake City…at the Chamber of Commerce, Quilt Shops, Etc.  Volunteers will do this.
October Meeting – Gail S has set up our program.  Kristine Ajos, who owns The Commercial Gallery in Alma, WI, will be demonstrating painting floor cloths.  Come see the procedure and the possibility of future classes.  She is also a weaver!
2017 Programs – It’s time to line up next year’s monthly programs.  It would be wonderful if the breakout groups would like to sign up for a month.  Perhaps you, as a member, would like to show us your talent or you have a friend that has an unusual craft or hobby that would like to share it with us.  Please let a board member know if you would like to volunteer to take a month.


MATERIAL GIRLS:  Several went on a Primitive Gatherings quilt retreat to Menasha WI.  Some went to Cedarberg WI to Quilt Mania to see Japanese quilts

NEEDLE PUNCH:  The next meeting will be the 3rd Tuesday of January 2017.

WILD WOOLIE WOMEN:  Several went on a day trip to Buttermilk Basin’s open house.

HOOKERS:  5 ladies went to Waupaca WI for the Art of WI Rug Hooking Guild class.

Reminder that our next meeting will be Monday, October 24, 2016.
Reminder that you are invited to ENCH at 11 am on Mondays.  We are a non-structured group of ladies that do many types of sewing/handwork and share ideas.
Sally Bystrom is having a craft boutique October 21-22.  Please contact her if you would like to sell something or attend.
October 8 – Hookers retreat in Stillwater.
October 2-3 –Hook in with Paulette at 10 am
The daughter of member Julie Makoutz was in an accident.  Information is on Caring Bridge website for Heidi Konkel.  We wish her well and a very speedy recovery.

Sally – purchased a vintage sewing stand and painted it black; she then made a beautiful punch needle top.
Sue E – beautiful silk scarf.  On a trip from Seattle to MN she picked up some pebbles from Montana.  She made a “birds (out of the pebbles) on a branch” plaque…very unique!
Gail – Made a wool corded pillow with an old truck and snowman appliqued on it.
Kathy A – Made a hand sewn patchwork pumpkin, a journal cover, and a hooked rug.
Alice – showed her scrafitto tile from last month’s program.
Barb T – made a Christmas tree skirt/table topper that she quilted herself.  Also made her great nephew a strip quilt and quilted it!
Bev – made a Halloween “SPOOKY” pillow and 2 fall wool candle mats; one oak leaf and one candy corn
Ione – made gift cards using the motifs given to us for the Art Challenge and made envelopes for them too.
Pat B – made a wool sheep wall hanging with a beautiful herringbone binding, made wool paisley tool kit bag, and showed the tile that she made during last month’s meeting.
Rhonda – showed her dragonfly tile.
Donna – showed a shawl she knit for hospice
Linda – made a pretty glass on glass mosaic with iris and red flowers; also showed her “Mandela” scrafitto tile.
Irene – showed a blue knit pillow.
Angie – made a sea turtle
Nancy – used 7-8 motifs from the Challenge to design and hook a footstool cover.  This won the Challenge contest.

Art In Your Heart Challenge projects were shown.  See above under Show and Tell.
The footstool cover made by Nancy won the challenge.
