New Officers were nominated and voted upon. Our new officers are: IONE-President. SALLY B-Vice President. SUE E-Secretary. KATHY A-Treasurer. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS. Please let them know how much you appreciate their volunteering; without them our guild would not function.
Our next meeting will be on November 28, 2016. The Wild Wooly Women group will conduct a class on making a beautiful wool ornament. You can see a picture on our website. You must preregister for this class if you want to participate! Kits are being made for preregistered members at no charge. If there are any kits leftover, they will be sold at $5.00 apiece. You must attend the meeting to receive your complementary kit.
It’s time to set up our 2017 Programs. January has been taken by Julie Makoutz who will show us how to make a heart shaped wire wrap. More info will be coming; this may be a make and take. February will be Judie Sage talking and showing pictures from a trip that she recently took to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and the Galapagos. It was suggested that maybe Barb T would agree to show us how to make a “Wild Woman” pin in 2017. Some of us made the pin several years ago.

SHOW AND TELL
Judith – showed fingerless mittens and matching headbands, a little girl’s and a woman’s cape, Fair Isle socks, and a recycled bag from a bag of corn.
Gail – beautiful alpaca and silk shawl.
Judi Sage – bought alpaca yarn for a scarf on her trip to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and the Galapagos. She will give a program on the trip in 2017.
Sue H – she was given a piece of linen burlap and she used it to rug hook with yarn, instead of wool strips, in a round shape that she’ll probably use it to cover something.
Julie – gave us an update on her daughter. She is recuperating and getting better but still has a way to go. She thanked us for all our prayers. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Miracles do happen.
Sue – showed a beautiful eco print silk crepe scarf; it was printed with ferns and rose leaves.
Sally – made a cute “summer” punch needle piece.
Nancy Z – Wore a cute hat made from recycled sweaters.
Kristine Kjos from Alma was our presenter tonight. She owns The Commercial Gallery in Alma WI. She provided a handout on how she makes painted floor cloths and showed us several examples of her work. She paints them in many sizes, even making placemats and smaller pieces of art! We loved her artistic ability and designs. Please see our website for pictures. https://rivervalleyartsguild.org/archive-2016-monthly-programs-2/
