MEMBERS PRESENT: 11 New members: 0
TREASURER’S REPORT: On Hand: $1,131.98 Expenditures: $46.00 Deposits: $ Balance as of is $1,085.98
~Dues…33 members are currently paid up
~New member/mentor signup sheet was passed around. No new members.
~Your Art Challenge was determined by vote and next month we will each draw a color to be used in our project.
~Katherine is still waiting to hear from the Hope Coalition to see what items we could make. The plan would be to put items together at the November meeting so that they could be given to people in December.
~Boutique Survey…the majority voted to keep the same weekend in November if possible. There was discussion about a possible new venue as well as checking with the UCC Church. A group is being formed to work on detailed planning for next year’s Boutique.
~Following the business meeting, members were encouraged to make a new name tag or make some ‘guest’ name tags. Katherine brought in a framed collage made out of a candy ad and pieces cut from magazines and members also had the option of making that.
~Artists on Main Street Workshop is happening in Wabasha on April 11th. Members were asked to consider this opportunity as either an individual or group. The theme is ‘placemaking’ and includes any type of art which promotes health, happiness and/or well-being. It offers the opportunity to be part of a unique artistic program within our community. In order to submit an idea, the individual or one person from the group needs to attend the workshop.
~Future programming…members agreed to have one of the future meeting dates be one where you plan to bring your project and work on it and get to know other members. Other ideas suggested were canvas & paint, spinning & weaving, barn board quilt painting and field trips such as to an art show.
