Minutes-2015, July


CALL TO ORDER:  at 6:25 pm at Beach Park by Mary F, President.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  16.  New members:  None

TEASURER’S REPORT:  On Hand:  $ 1,534.17.  Expenditures:  $200.00.  Deposits: $108.00.  Balance as of July 27 is $1,442.17.  52 paid members.   Motion to approve by Jan K & seconded by Barb.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Motion to approve as submitted.  Motion made by Jan Kasper and seconded by Barb.

Boutique:  Total sales for 3 days was $1773.00, Fri Sales were $1001.50, Sat sales were $572.00, and Sun sales were $199.50.  Everything went smoothly at the shop per Jan K.  Thanks to those that sold items, helped in sales, helped set up and take down, or helped in any other way.  Special thanks to Jan for putting up six signs around town.  She also had our Boutique info on the poster ad for River Boat Days.   It was a wonderful show with many, many great items for sale!  We have so many creative, talented artists in our group!!
We received a Certificate of Appreciation from W-K Scholarship Foundation for our generous support for students and educations.  They will use our donation for a scholarship next school year.

MATERIAL GIRLS:  Several members worked on making strip quilts at the ENCH.  Barb T made a   “Valor Quilt” for her daughter who is retired from the Air Force.  No strip quilts at tonight’s show and tell, where are they ladies?

HOOKERS:  No report

Reminder that August’s meeting will be Monday, August 24.
There will be no UFO Sunday on August 2nd at the ENCH.
Jan K is setting up a quilt retreat for Sep 21-25, 2016.  Primitive Gatherings in Menasha WI has a retreat house near the quilt shop.  There is room for 16 participants. There is room for 12 sewing machines and room for 4 to work by hand.  There are beds for 16.  Cost is by donation; the suggested donation is $120 PP for the dates.  She needs to know ASAP if we have enough interest to rent the facility or not.  Please give this serious thought and get back to Jan K.

Running Dog Ranch will be participating in a Sheep and Fiber Farm tour, which may include up to 5 farms.  The tour is on Oct 10 -11.  Barb B will be selling hats there and is looking for others to go with her to sell, etc.

Marilyn B showed a wonderful quilt she made of 16 different purple batik fabrics.  It was named “Purple Passion” and won a Champion ribbon at the Fillmore County Fair.  Congrats Marilyn!  What a beautiful quilt!!

Pam C showed a t-shirt quilt that she made with Marilyn B’s help. It was very bright and colorful.  She got rid of some older fabric from her stash and made memories to remember!
Judith Hanks from Pepin WI showed two wraps that she was knitting.  One is a large blue wrap and the other will be a smaller sea foam green wrap.  They are Alice Tang patterns which she finds on the internet.
