RIVER VALLEY ARTS GUILD Meeting: November 24, 2014. Meeting held at Eagles Nest Coffee House
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Rheta Stears.
MEMBERSHIP: 15 members.
VISITORS: Judy Hanks
TREASURER’S REPORT: On Hand: $1584.17 Expenditures: $144.50. Cash used for boutique in amount of $150.00 was deposited.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: Approved October minutes with correction spelling of Mary Mackey Faulkner’s fir name.
OLD BUSINESS: Boutique update: Barb B reported there were 21 vendors and sales totaled $3,737. Breakdown of sales: Friday: 2363, Saturday: $807 and Sunday $566. There was a wide variety of merchandise and lots of customers. arb also reported that the price point of merchandise sold was between $25 – $30. This is good information for future planning.
New Officers: Starting in January the new slate of officers will be:
President: Mary Mackey Faulkner
Vice President: Nancy Zimmerman
Treasurer: Barb Busch
Secretary: Pam Christopherson
Webmaster: Pat Boesel
Event (Program Coordinator) At large – sign up by members. Pam C will keep a record of the program information. Maximum of $50 per program. Each sub group will be asked to do a program. Sign up will take place at January meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: Think about helping out as our advertising volunteer. Yvonne Kruger has worked with this the past couple of years and done an outstanding job. She has all the information and is willing to help with the training. The job entails putting the meeting notices in the local paper(s) and on the HBCI local channel.
Boutique for June 5, 6 & 7, 2014. Think about it. Jan K and Carol K offered to co-chair.
RVAG SUBGROUP UPDATES: No reports

HOOKERS: Meets every Friday 11 AM.

ONGOING BUSINESS REMINDERS: Name tags are helpful for all of us. They may be left at ENCH.
Meetings are the 4th Monday of every month (unless changed due to holidays). The social time is 6 PM with meeting start time at 6:30. A program follows the meeting. Show and Tell starts about 6:15 and then will finish up after the meeting if needed.

PROGRAM: One of our RVAG members, Linda Benson, showed us her Santa making techniques. She made her first Santa 20 or so years ago. She sculpts the face and hand with clay and then proceeds to build the most beautiful Santa using furs, velvets, leather and toys. She showed us some of the how tos and we were able to examine the finished product up close. She’s made over 40 Santas and has a few more on her to-do list. One Santa takes 80 or more hours to construct. Thanks Linda for sharing your love of Santas with us!
Treats were provided by Yvonne Kruger in loving memory of her husband, David.
NEXT MEETING: December 15 – date change….. Gift $20 or less. Something handmade. UGLY SWEATER… Bring your favorite snack, cookie, etc. to share.
