Minutes from May 20, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order @ 6:30 p.m. by Rheta Stears. There were 21 members present.
NEW MEMBERS (introduced)

$2088.20 plus $243.00 less $208.92 balance of $2122.28
Treasurer’s report was accepted. There are 56 paid members to date.
April minutes were approved.
It was voted on and passed that we will be donating hand-made blankets and shawls to Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care Center as this year’s community project. Barb T.will write up the specifics and Rheta S. will be sending it out to all members.
Jan K. reported the Spring Boutique went very well. Sales for Friday were $640.50, Saturday $214.50, Sunday $522.00. Expenes were $54.60 for newspaper ads, receipt book $10.98, and paper, signs, ink $20.00. Summary of suggestions from Jan: would have liked everyone to put items in, need to buy boutique signs (Vista Print is very cheap-need logo), plan dates ahead of time, three workers works best.
RVAG logo contest was tabled until June’s meeting.
Suggestions for using excess RVAG funds are a bus to the state fair and/or education.
It was decided a notice should be put in the newspaper each month announcing our meeting, place, time and program. Evonne K. volunteered to do this task.
Evonne K. said there is a wooden rack for sale and proposed we purchase it for future boutiques. A motion was made and seconded to make the purchase.
Jan K. shared information she picked up (while attended Shepherd’s Harvest) about upcoming shows. She will see that Pat B. gets the information so it can be added to the website for further reference.
Irene S. announced June’s program will be on toothbrush rugs. It is an old pioneer craft.
Rug hooking meetings are the 2nd Saturday and last Friday starting at 11:00 a.m. each month.
Wool work/stitching group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1:00.
Material Girls Quilt Group meets the third Thursday of each month at 1:00.

Rheta S. was wearing an outfit she made and a bag she purchased.
Nancy Z. showed a sweater and slippers lined with tufted wool that she was knitting.
Barb T. showed water color paintings from her class and a clothsline bowl she made at the Alma Quilt Shop
Barb B. showed a knitted shawl she was making.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Annette Huntoon gave a program on “Color”. We saw some of her talent in pieces of her quilting and we did an intesting exercise picking colors out of a magazine page and telling how we would use them to decorate.
