RIVER VALLEY ARTS GUILD MEETING
Minutes of August 26, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
Evonne Kruger, co-president, called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
One new member, Michele McCaughtry, (not in attendance).
No new activity, balance is $2006.73.
A motion was made to approve July minutes and seconded

Rheta S. is holding a sewing/pattern fitting class on September 18 and 19, 12:30, at her home. If you did not receive an information sheet and are interested, please contact Rheta S.
Irene S. passed around a sign-up sheet for Terry Dennis’ copper enamaling class. The class will be at his shop next month. For more information, please contact Irene S.
Patti E. spoke on behalf of webmaster, Pat B., requesting approval to continue and upgrade the RVAG website. Phase two will give us a private area for “members only” storage. A motion was made, and passed, to continue the website and funding of $117 in 2014 (and the following year if it gives us a better rate, at Pat B.’s descretion) and re-address at the end of that time.
Jan K. suggested we have a business card made up with our new logo showing the website address. Patti E. will follow up with Pat B. about implementing/using the new logo on the website. Rheta S. will check on card and printing costs and report back to the guild.
Jan K. said the chamber will advertise our Fall Boutique for us. She asked for a volunteer to chair the boutique. If you are interested, please let Jan K. or Rheta S. know, as soon as possible.
Jan K. declined on the suggestion from the suggestion box, that RVAG take care of the garden on the side of the coffee shop. She suggested, if RVAG wants to help with the rock garden project that she has planned for that space, she will be happy to let us know when it gets underway.
Corrine Y. of the Running Dog Ranch shared informtion about her learning center and upcoming events. You can find a link to her website on www.rivervalleyartsguild.org
Kathy Jo R. announced she is having a silk painting workshop with Erin’s Designs on October 7th and 8th, 9 -5 each day. She passed around the information sheet and you can contact Kathy Jo for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (work) 651-345- 5667 or (cell) 651-345-2764
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.

Patti Fossini, from Strum, WI, shared her knowledge on rug making. She displayed her toothbrush rugs, braided rugs, and woven rugs.
Please start thinking about volunteering for a position on the RVAG board for 2014. At our October meeting, we will be nominataing and voting on a new President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Program Coordinator, and the new bylaws.
