River Valley Arts Guild-About Us
The River Valley Arts Guild is a diverse group of artists and individuals living in Minnesota and Wisconsin near the Wabasha/Nelson area. Meetings are held at the Eagle’s Nest Coffee House in Wabasha, Minnesota on the 4th Monday of each month. A Social gathering begins at 6:00 P.M. with a meeting that follows at 6:30 P.M. There’s always time for Show & Tell and everyone is invited to bring their latest creations or projects. There is a program each month on a variety of topics. Some are lectures, some are hands on, but all are fun and educational. Guests are always welcome to attend an upcoming meeting. Dues are $12 per year.
Our Mission is to share, learn, create, socialize and help our local communities. Specialized sub-groups meet throughout the month to focus on individual arts/crafts such as quilting, wool work, rug hooking, etc. We serve the community by donating handcrafted projects, decided on and made by members. Most important, members are invited to participate as much or as little as their schedule allows. Everyone is invited to join the River Valley Arts Guild, make new friends, and perhaps learn a new art/craft!
Our interests are ever changing. Currently, members are knitting, crocheting, sewing, throwing pottery, quilting, rug hooking, wool applique’ and wool felting, fabric dying and batik, card art, embroidery, glass lampwork, glass fusing, spinning, and jewelry making. Our members are always learning something new. So whether you want to learn or have something to teach – you are welcome to join us.
